Happy 8 Months Emmy!

Oh, Little Girl!!!  This Emmy Doll is so full of character!  Her smiles light up a room!  She loves to giggle and explore the world.  She can't get things in her mouth fast enough!  She is scooting backwards all over the room.  She is up on all fours rocking back and forth a lot!  She will take off crawling any minute.  I just know that when she does, my cupboards and drawers are in for it!  We are prepared with baby gates for when the fun begins!
I had to buy this orange top to go with her orange hair!!!  I think it's so cute on her!  She is a busy little thing and she doesn't sit still.  When I hold her on my hip she is often bouncing up and down.  She has things to learn about and explore!
Girls and boys are so different!  I have to tell this story to illustrate.  The other day I was in the kitchen putting together a trifle dessert for Mike's cousin's wedding shower.  Emmy was napping so it was Tommy and me in the kitchen together.  I put Tommy in the bumbo on the counter next to me and gave him a spatula.  He was so focused on that one item.  I think he knew every curve and smooth and rough part on that spatula!  He was very content to focus on it and learn all about it.  Soon, Emmy woke up and Tommy was ready to go down for a nap, so I switched places with the babies.  This time I gave Emmy a wood spoon.  She Went Wild!!!  She took that spoon and hit everything 360 degrees around her!  She had to be aware of all of her surroundings.  Then she played hockey with the spoon knocking Bryant's toy off the counter.  She ditched the spoon and started pulling on the banana in the bowl next to her.  Next she reached and grabbed my cell phone charger and unplugged it from the wall, then she turned on the blender!  This was all in a matter of seconds!  I burst out laughing!!!  The contrast was so amazing and hilarious to me!!!  Emmy is such a girl and Tommy is such a boy! (:
This is usually how I do her hair lately.  I put a tiny elastic in it to the side and then a bow clip.  Maybe she's ready to learn how to do it herself!
This is how Emmy usually looks.  A bib on is a must for her because she is such a drooler!  We call her our little drool factory.  At least she has four teeth to show for it!  She almost always has something in her hands too!  Busy, busy!

Happy 8 months Tommy!!

Happy Birthday Baby!!  Oh how I love this little guy!  I could eat him up!  Hi is such a fun, cute baby!  He is getting so talkative and babbling a lot.  At 7 months he starting saying "Mama".  I couldn't believe it and second guessed it several times but sure enough, he only says it when he really needs me!  It melts my heart!  Mike was skeptical until he was going to get Tommy up from his nap and he could hear him in his crib say "Mama!"  I think he will be an early little talker!
He is also doing this sweet shy thing.  If I'm holding him and we meet someone he doesn't know he buries his face in my shoulder.  Then he looks up and smiles at them, then buries his face again.  It's sooooo cute!
This is the first jogger stroller I have owned and I LOVE it!  It moves like butter along the pavement.  It's the best.  How do the babies feel about it?  Their faces tell the story.  Another cute thing about Tommy is that he loves solid foods!  He eats everything I put into his mouth.  He is so fun to feed!
Tommy looks much smaller than Emmy in this picture, but he really isn't that much smaller, it's just the way they are positioned here!  Today they were playing on the floor in the family room.  I ran to the laundry room to change out the load.  I wasn't gone long and I heard Emmy squeal so I ran to see why she was upset.  She had moved too close to Tommy.  She was on her tummy and Tommy was sitting up right next to her.  Tommy was sitting there smiling while yanking his two fists full of her hair!!!  He looked so happy!!  I thought, maybe he has been staring at that bright red hair for months, just waiting for his moment!  Poor Emmy!

My Creation

It always feels good to create something beautiful.  This is especially true when it's an intimidating project and it actually turns out just how you pictured it!  I saw this arrangement at Michael's and then looked at the price tag and gasped.  It just so happened that all their fake flowers were on sale that day.  I knew I could make this for much cheaper so I took on the challenge.  I got help from their in store florist.  She just helped me find all the flowers I was looking for, then I came home and got to work.  I love looking at this in the corner of my living room.  The colors work perfectly in there!
